Did You Know: The Placenta

We all know that in Japan all people love sushi (seafood with rice)

Sushi

and all Japanese people are crazy about sashimi (raw fish).

Sashimi

Some people even eat horse sushi (sliced pieces of raw horse meat).

But DID YOU KNOW that some couples also like to gorge on placenta sushi (sliced up placenta)
not from some poor unsuspecting mammal but their own child's placenta as a small celebration
after the birth of a child.

Placenta

This delicacy rich in minerals, iron and other vitamins is said to taste a little like liver.
I wonder if it's against vegetarian ethics to help themselves to a slice.

Do you eat placenta in your country?
